Description

An oxygen bomb calorimeter is an instrument used to measure the heat of combustion of a sample. The sample is placed in a sealed “bomb” filled with pure oxygen and ignited. The heat produced is absorbed by water, and the temperature change is used to calculate the calorific value (energy content) of the material.
