Test overview
The combined assay for anticardiolipin (aCL) and anti–β₂-glycoprotein I (anti-β₂GPI) IgG and IgM detects antiphospholipid antibodies associated with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). These autoantibodies promote a hypercoagulable state, predisposing to arterial and venous thromboses and pregnancy morbidity.
Parameter Details
Analytes • Anticardiolipin IgG and IgM
• Anti–β₂-glycoprotein I IgG and IgM
Specimen type Serum (5 mL clotted blood in a serum separator tube)
